Not hard at all. In fact, in your area, they're considered weeds. There is one variety called Heavenly blue which is just that. At least first thing in the a.m., later in the day it turns purple, but that's ok b/c the next day it's back to blue. You will want to soak the seeds overnight, or cut the slightest nick off the end before you plant so the root can come out. Set the seeds in loose, fertile soil about 1/2" to 1/4" down. Keep them watered well and fertilize with something like Miracle Grow. They need bright, full sun and maybe afternoon shade. It will produce seeds so next year you won't have to do anything but weed around the vines you want and water/ fertilize like usual. They need a support otherwise they'll just ramble like I'm doing. Good luck!
Reply:this is a noxious weed in pacific nw. we pay to kill it. leave it alone, it's ugly and stringy anyway. just plant dandelions, your neighbors will hate u either way.
Reply:Morning glory in Missouri is almost a weed. Plant it and look out! I would think with warmer weather just throw it on the ground ( well almost)
Reply:Tell you what if you want them just come to Alabama and get what you want from my garden lol, Free Free Free.

I can not get rid of them why would you want them to grow?
Reply:MG's are wonderful! Do you realize how many varieties there are? The Japanese have done wonderful things with them. Do a search, and you will find many awesome ones on eBay, if only to look at. They grow especially well in your area, and all you need is a lot of sun, and something to grow them on. I've never met a MG I didn't like! They put out a ton of seeds, and you can start them around April. Don't expect them to come up right away, you may soak them over night first, and plant them a good ways a part from each other, at least four in one spot. So many beautiful colors and patternss to choose from. Enjoy, and good luck! :) Arum
Reply:Be sure you really want to have morning glory. It is like a weed. Usually not a good choice.
Reply:It's so easy that once you get them going you won't be able to get rid of them even if you want to. They are beautiful but you will have to keep them from spreading where you don't want them to be. If you have the patience and time to do this, I'd say plant some because they are pretty and smell so good.
